Frequently Asked Questions
What is Consignment?
A consignment occurs when you bring clothing or other items to us for a period of time to sell on your behalf. At Classy Way the consignment period is 60 days. When items sell, we take a percentage for our services and pay you the remainder.
What kinds of items do you accept?
Classy Way is committed to maintaining high standards of both merchandise and customer service within a boutique atmosphere. For that reason we are particular about the items we accept.
We have a preference for brand name clothing and accessories that can be found in major department or brand name stores today. We will accept misses, junior, maternity and plus sizes. Please refer to our Consignment Guidelines page on this site for additional information.
Who sets prices?
We do... based on years of experience and product knowledge, we understand what people are willing to pay for quality recyled clothing and accessories. We are in business together with you and want what you want - the best possible price attainable. If you consign something which you believe would bring a higher selling price than you think we might set, let us know at time of consignment.
How much do I get for consigning with Classy Way?
You will receive 40% of the selling price (50% for items that sell at $75 or more). You may pick up money due you at any time... you don't have to wait until the end of the consignment period.
When can I bring items in to be consigned?
We accept consignments six days per week - no appointment is needed. However, it is best if you can call before coming. Our consignment hours are as follows:
Monday thru Friday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Saturday: 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM
How will I know when my items have sold?
It is your responsibility to contact us regarding account status. Sales are credited to your account on the date of sale. You can call, email or stop by any time and we will let you know the status of your account.
What happens if items do not sell?
You may pick up unsold items at the end of your consignment period. Any unclaimed items become the property of Classy Way to be donated to local charities. Receipts for tax deductions are available on request for donated items.
When and how should I let you know I want unsold items back?
When you consign items you will be given a consignment expiration date. Please call at least 72 hours before the expiration date to schedule a pickup of unsold items. If items are not reclaimed within 3 days of the scheduled pickup date, they may be donated as indicated above.
Why should I consign with Classy Way instead of another shop?
